Surf's Up Surf Camp is a local family owned and operated business. John Domke, Camp Director and Instructor, is a father of four and 15 year Santa Clarita Valley resident. He has been an experienced surfer for over 30 years. He is CPR and First Aid certified. John is also a 23 year credentialed high school teacher, having worked in both private and public schools. He has extensive and highly successful coaching experience at the high school and junior high levels, was a director of summer sports camps for 12 years, and has been a community volunteer for a number of different developmental sports in the Santa Clarita Valley.
All of our camps take place at Mondos Beach Off Highway 1 in Ventura County. Mondos is the classic beginners spot with soft, long, crumbly waves in fairly shallow water in a cove with little or no currents. A very safe beach for your beginning surfers.
